Why do I still copy normal characters?
Wingdings is a font. The output keeps regular characters (A-Z, numbers, punctuation). Once you paste into Word, Docs, Slides, or design tools, change the font to Wingdings and the glyphs appear.
Will everyone see the symbols?
Anyone with Wingdings installed (all Windows, most macOS with Office) sees the icons. If the font is missing, the reader just sees the original letters, so nothing breaks.
Can I convert Wingdings back to text?
Yes—because the underlying characters never change, you can simply switch the font back to Arial/Helvetica/etc. and the plain text reappears.
